Sacramento Pioneer Association Scholarship

This year our 2011 scholarship award will go to a high school junior or senior who is an outstanding volunteer for a local non-profit organization with a connection to Sacramento history. An equal amount will be awarded to the organization itself to further its service to the community and to promote its volunteer programs. The awards for 2011 are $500 to the student volunteer and $500 to the organization for which they volunteer.

The non-profits that have responded that they do indeed have student volunteers are the Sacramento Zoo, the Crocker Art Museum, the Effie Yeaw Nature Center, and the Sacramento History Museum. Other community oriented organizations are welcome to apply as well if they have student volunteers who deserve this recognition.

The honored volunteer and a representative of their organization will be invited to the Sacramento Pioneer Association Annual Meeting on March 17, 2011 to receive the awards.
